Extreme Hazardous Conditions Exist on the Owyhee River April 22, 2011 16:31:18The BLM Vale District is advising the public and rafting community that the river conditions and river flow on the Wild and Scenic portion of the Owyhee River is extremely hazardous. The river flow at the Rome Launch site is at 18,000 cubic feet per second (CFS) and is expected to increase based on weather forecasts; normal seasonal adjusted flows are usually 3,000 to 7,000 CFS.

Coos Bay BLM Receives National Fisheries Award April 21, 2011 16:44:22The Coos Bay District received an award for "Extraordinary Action in support of Fish Habitat Conservation" by the National Fish Habitat Action Plan (NFHAP). The NFHAP is a coalition of partners involving 118 conservation groups, 35 industry, 16 federal, 40 state, local and tribal governments and six universities.

Spring fishing is still slow getting started April 21, 2011 08:52:59[IdahoStatesman.com] Is anybody out there? Most of my usually hardcore anglers are waiting out the weather because there’s not a whole lot of fishing going on. I know some people are fishing lakes and reservoirs, but I haven’t been getting many firsthand reports. I understand. I haven’t been getting out myself lately.
