August 21, 2008 04:57:52Ok I purchased a Linux VPS, followed the directions in my email for directadmin, got my DNS set but my Domain host doesnt recognise the nameservers as there.
Is there a guide for utter nubs? I am so lost it is rediculous. Paid for managed hosting, sent in a support email over 2.5 hours ago and have heard nothing, added them to my MSN and they are not online. Is this normal? It said they had 24 hour support:

Connection Speed.... Please Review
September 1, 2008 11:15:55I have been working on this site only 1 hour so it is not finished. I just seem to be having really slow connection issues and want to verify this as my computer probably only has 1gb space left from the 300gb space I used so this could be causing the problem.
I recently swithced to HostGator.com Shared. I may need to go back to LunarPages.

Control panel for Ubuntu VPS

Copy database from another VPS
August 23, 2008 19:55:51Hi, earlier this week, I experience some data loss, unfortunately one of which was the forum database :S
Ive a backup on another server and wish to copy that database onto the new server.
Is there any easy way of doing so?
I can only access the VPS (backup) via its IP and SSH is working fine. PhpMyAdmin on the server is playing up, as well as a lot of other php-mysql applications.

copyright infringement question
August 31, 2007 22:38:42I recently heard that Facebook tried to sue some website for copyright infringement even though the website didnt even look like facebook and all that.
So, this rises a question: where do you draw the line? Or more correctly, where does the judge draw the line between a site that simply looks similar and a real attempt to copy the general look and feel of a website?

cPanel endusers/resellers.. would you switch to another CP?
August 19, 2008 03:41:16Just an open-ended question thats been bugging me lately. As the industry moves to a more automated approach, I was wondering if cPanel users would likely move to another CP if it was fully automated (including the migration).
Either a custom solution or H-Sphere, if it meant you had one login for all of your services/no need to contact support for anything except actual problems.

cPGS Configuration problem!

This can caused by a few things:
The cPGSD server is not running on 127.0.0.1:2082
There is a firewall blocking access to 127.0.0.1:2082
127.0.0.1 is not the right IP and/or 2082 is not the right port

I remember that I once saw a website offering a service that gives you a VPS space and allow you to create sub vpss into it and all of them is like a brand new vps , fully isolated .. just a normal vps !
