Georgia: Right-to-Carry and emergency powers bill passes Legislature April 28, 2010 09:30:53Gun reforms that would let people carry weapons into Georgia airports won final passage Tuesday night at the Georgia General Assembly.
Senate Bill 291, one of two major gun bills before the assembly this year, cleared the House 120 37. It already had passed the Senate and heads to Gov. Sonny Perdue for his signature.
Senate Bill 291 also prohibits law enforcement officers from confiscating peoples lawfully owned guns during emergencies and makes various other changes to state gun regulations. - [Read more] |
Georgia: Right-to-Carry bills pass Senate fight March 25, 2010 09:34:49Two bills allowing Right-to-Carry permit holders to carry in churches, bars and parts of airports on Wednesday were passed by the Senate, closing out a marathon day of legislation.
SB 308, sponsored by Sen. Mitch Seabaugh of Sharpsburg and clarifying language regarding where guns can be carried in the state, withstood strong objections from the Board of Regents and at least 10 amendments that were either rejected or withdrawn. It passed with bipartisan support, 41-12.

Georgia: Seabaugh gun bill undergoes changes February 18, 2010 09:21:36The "Common Sense Lawful Carry" bill has gone through several changes since it was first introduced.
Introduced by Sen. Mitch Seabaugh, R Sharpsburg, the bill was presented in a committee meeting that lasted nearly three hours Monday.

Georgias Lawful Carry Act signed into law June 10, 2010 09:44:37The Georgia Common Sense Lawful Carry Act, authored by State Sen. Mitch Seabaugh (R Sharpsburg), was signed into law today by Gov. German group denounces weapons law as unconstitutional July 22, 2010 09:40:33A school shooting spree last year in Winnenden in which a teenager killed 15 people has prompted a German anti weapons group to lodge a complaint with the countrys constitutional court.
