Why social media is more powerful than traditional news channels. November 5, 2010 01:05:10Yesterday I first heard about the problems with a Qantas flight on Twitter. As I watched the messages come through EVENTUALLY there was some official content put out by the business itself. Another great example of how fast news can spread on social media and why PR teams need to be equipped to respond rapidly to this. News reports we contradicted by people who we actually there and had the tools (well a mobile phone) to be able to spread messages and pictures.
