Lame July 29, 2008 00:05:00 Its been 10 days, and I still have not seen The Dark Knight because some of my lame-ass friends get mad at me for seeing everything right when it comes out, leaving us nothing to do when were together except stare into... - [Read more]

Beijing Olympics Mickey Mouse Look-a-like Mascot July 28, 2008 23:05:08
Hmmm This character looks a lot like Mickey Mouse doesn’t he? Even the local children point out “Look! It’s Mickey”
When asked about the resemblance to Mickey, a spokesperson replied, “They have square holes in their ears. They are not copies.” The spokesperson suggested the statues are unique because they incorporate the... - [Read more]

Cuil The new Google? July 28, 2008 22:45:59
Could this new search engine Cuil (pronounce cool)be the new Google? Well Culi itself was laughed by Google engineers.
I tried Cuil out and it’s a very good and accurate search engine and it’s displayed more like a news site but there are some things most of us might be more comfortable using Google. Google offers more options/results and such.

Demonic Jukebox July 28, 2008 12:00:00 As a huge fan of ABBA and a deep admirer of Meryl Streep, I cannot talk about Mamma Mia! (the movie or the stage musical). It would be like talking about Jesus and his cock. (Okay, that analogy doesnt really work, but I havent said... - [Read more]

Edible, Audible, Obsessible July 25, 2008 17:12:00 As the stars would have it, I was born on the day of moderation. This morning, as I was happily feasting on my mid-morning breakfast of plain-ole White Hen Pantry crab-meat and a cylindrical power bullet of Red-Bull, it... - [Read more] |
The Life and Times of Pork Chop July 25, 2008 12:00:00 Several years ago, I wrote this entry, dated September 9, 2003:
Yesterday and today, I saw Pork Chop hunch down on his stomach, bow his head, and stretch his paws outward in front of him, as if he were praying to Mecca. He remained in that position for a... - [Read more]

Thought Police! Thought Police! July 24, 2008 22:04:21Leash
Im a serious Pearl Jam junkie, so it bemuses me to admit that until recently (like 5 minutes ago), Ive been an unwitting victim of the Kiss-This-Guy syndrome. Ive been mishearing the lyrics as, "Thought police! Thought police!"
Evidently, Im not the only one. For the translating-Vedder-impaired, hes actually saying, "Drop the... - [Read more] |
I Will Outlive You July 24, 2008 17:20:00 I dont think my intention with this blog has ever been to make you want to slit your wrists (except perhaps when I post High School Musical clips), so I apologize in advance if the following news item is too depressing.
The United States... - [Read more]

Never Look Back (Except Now) July 24, 2008 12:00:00 Bitches and Babies June 7, 2005
Loren says Lords of Dogtown is a really good movie, and he cried like a bitch. So he can no longer make fun of me for bawling at the end of Savannah Smiles, a movie reference so obscure that I... - [Read more]

Two for Tuesday - Days of the New July 22, 2008 19:52:53
This image is from the concert we went to Saturday night at the Machine Shop. Travis Meeks and his crew gave an excellent performance lasting nearly two and a half hours! Glad to hear hes working on releasing the Purple album under his own label. He came out with a swollen right cheek bone. Said hed been literally beating himself up onstage the night before. An artist, suffering for his work? Or a mildly-autistic... - [Read more]

Discovering the video trailer July 22, 2008 19:38:51One positive thing about attending a writers conference was a few moments of inspiration. Or, it might be that I’m just catching up with others and possibly shrugging off the tidal waves of bad news about oil prices, possible recession, credit and other crunches, global warming and all the other debatable crises facing the planet.
I [...] - [Read more] |
