25 Trivia Points about John McCain August 31, 2008 19:30:12I found this list on MSNBC.com. It’s an Associated Press compiled list of 25 things about Senator John McCain. I’m looking for a similar list about Senator Barack Obama. This is a neat way to feel we know the candidates personally. As a personality guru, I learned a lot about McCain reading this.
A Few Baseball Oddities June 30, 2008 12:15:00Though my sweet wife cannot understand how you could watch such a boring sport, I enjoy watching and playing baseball. Im also a fan of Baseball trivia. Recently, a few oddities have surfaced that I have found interesting:

A Great School Visit January 1, 1970 00:00:00This week we spoke in a school in the Sao Joao Climaco area of Sao Paulo, and we had a great time of sharing Christ and interacting with the students and teachers. We spoke in 42 classes in 3 days, and we need to return next week to speak in 4 more of the night classes. This school has 5th to 8th graders in the morning, 1st to 4th graders in the afternoon, and high school at night. God greatly blessed our visits, and 1393 students and 21 teachers and the school coordenator accepted... - [ Read more] |

Americans are Boring August 28, 2008 19:45:19Americans are so boring sometimes. While we watch conventions on TV every night, work 45 hours a week average, and take less vacations than the rest of the world, some countries are finding ways to simply have fun.
Look what happened at this Tomato Festival in Spain. ... - [Read more] |
Are You Feeling Stressed? July 1, 2008 12:49:10
It pains me to see the number of people that are taking some form of prescription drugs to relieve depression and stress. More and more people today are falling under the effects of stress and stressful situations. In the rat race’s that we participate in on a daily basis, from deadlines, to overwhelming bills,... - [Read more] |
August Was A Great Month January 1, 1970 00:00:00We had a great month in August, and God did some wonderful things. We praise Him for opening some wonderful opportunities to share Christ in 3 schools in Sao Paulo and for the chance to preach in Primeira Igreja Batista Central in Sao Bernardo. Nearly 2600 people accepted Christ in August, including 48 teachers and 1 school coordenator. The Lord Jesus gets all of the glory and honor, for truly without Him we are able to do nothing. Here is a slide show of our visits in the 3 schools:Read more] |
Beware of the Siren Song of the Twitter June 11, 2008 22:15:00 Ive resisted the lure of the Twitter for a long time. It seemed the height of banal triviality, a mechanism designed to enable one to follow anothers mundane activities throughout the day.
Then I realized that Twitter could be conceived as varying and amorphous forms of Jabberwocky.
I can... - [Read more]

More and more I have noticed that it is getting trendy for bloggers to have their own Blog Business Cards, I am still up in the air as to whether I should get some made for Charles Hamel.com or not. It would be cool to hand out business cards for my blog, not only would it provide a way for people... - [Read more] |
Boating Under the Influence June 5, 2008 03:46:45
Now that the summer months are upon us, and there are things to think about that we might not give any thought to on a regular basis. Everyone is familiar with the drinking and driving campaigns, and they have been very effective in reducing the amount of deaths that have occurred from those who decide to make wrong decisions and get behind the wheel after having a few drinks and thinking they are ok to drive.
But there is another... - [Read more] |

Bureaucracy In Brazil January 1, 1970 00:00:00We are in the process of renewing our drivers licenses, and the bureaucracy here in Brazil is amazing. Any government process here in Brazil is very complicated, even for Brazilians, and it is even more so for "estrangeiros" (foreigners). In the US it takes one trip to the license bureau, maybe 30-60 minutes, and a small fee. Unfortunately the process here is not as simple and is much more expensive (about US $140 each). We needed to visit the tranportation department 5 times before we... - [ Read more] |
