| January 30, 2008 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Dedicated hosting provider The Planet (theplanet.com) announced on Wednesday it has signed a new partnership for its Microsoft SBS Partner Program with managed services provider TechAssist (techassistllc.com). TechAssist provides hosted managed services to its customer base comprised of national associations, law firms, financial services companies and medical offices. In rankings released this week, managed services media outlet MSP.Net named TechAssist to its national list of the Top 100 Managed Services Providers. The companys "True Technology Management" services offer complete enterprise-class IT solutions for SMBs that were previously available only in large companies with large staffs. TechAssist says it combines the monitoring and remote support of a managed services provider, the onsite support of an IT outsourcing company and the strategic guidance of a technology consultant in a single and scalable fixed-price plan. "Our Microsoft SBS partner program was designed for companies like TechAssist that clearly understand the SMB market and the value of the managed services model," says James P. Treuting, VP of sales and operations with The Planet. "TechAssist provides its clients with services previously available only in enterprise-size organizations with big IT teams. Nick Vossburg and his team retain management and deliver value-added services to their clients, backed by our world-class network, data centers and support." The Planet announced yesterday it named Scott King senior director of data center operations.
