Title:Alternative Ideas for Puerto Rico - Part 2 - http://www.visit-the-coqui.com/2008/05/alternative-ideas-for-puerto-rico-2/
Description:

This is a follow up to my first post on Alternative Ideas for Puerto Rico and highlights three more options for things to do while on vacation here in Puerto Rico.

Horse Drawn Carriage Ride through Old San Juan

If you don’t feel like walking around Old San Juan, why not let the horse take the strain. Take a horse drawn carriage through the streets of Old San Juan. Located close to the cruise ship piers in the Casitas area, you will be able to choose from several horse drawn carriages; open top or covered.

horseThere are usually 3 tours on other ranging in time from 20mins, 30mins and 45minutes.

The 20 minute tour is obviously the shorter of the tours and takes you past Fortezela, City Hall and Plaza Las Armas. Cost is $25 per couple, $15 for each additional person.

The 30 minute tour takes you past Plaza Colon, the Capital building, and San Cristobal Fort. Cost is $50 per couple, $15 for each additional person.

The 45 minute tour takes you past the Fortezela, City Hall, Plaza Las Armas, Plaza Colon, the Capital building, and San Cristobal Fort. Cost is $75 per couple, $15 for each additional person.

Added bonus: children under 12 ride for free if they are accompanied by an adult

Note: Horse drawn carriage rides are only available during daylight hours

Jet Ski Tour of Old San Juan

This will not be the cheapest tour of Old San Juan, but if you are looking to see Old San Juan from a different angle, then check out the Jet Ski tours by Aquatica.
aquatica
Tours start from the San Juan Bay Marina (near Miramar) and then (based on the images on the website), take you along the bay towards the entrance to the bay (where the cruise ships enter). You will pass attractions such as:
Paseo la Princesa
Governors Mansion
San Juan Gate
El Morro Fort

The tours last 90mins and cost $110 for one person and an additional $35 if there are 2 people. Aquatica claim that the tour is suitable for novice riders as well as experienced ridres.

More info at the Aquatica website

SNUBA

As you have probably guessed SNUBA combines the best of snorkeling and scuba diving into one. SNUBASNUBA is a patented shallow water diving system that bridges the gap between snorkeling and scuba diving.

During a SNUBA dive you breathe underwater using a 20 foot air line which is connected to a standard scuba tank, which is mounted on a raft on the surface. As you swim, the raft above follows you.

You will be given full instructions so that you can familiarize yourself with the equipment and once you begin your dive, you will be accompanied by a certified SNUBA guide.

There are several companies offering SNUBA around the island:
SunsetSnuba
SnubaPR
