Saif Ali Khan was born on August 16, 1970 in the family of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and former bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore. He has two sisters named Saba Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan. Soha is also a bollywood actress like her mother. Saif did her education from Winchester College. Saif Ali Khan was first seen in the movie Parampara (1992) in which he shared screen space with none other than perfectionist Aamir Khan. He did many films in the same year including Aashiq Awara, Yeh Dillagi, Imtihaan etc but none of them were enough to establish him as a successful actor in bollywood.

His first hit film was Main Khiladi Tu Anari with Akshay Kumar. But still he was not the favourite of filmmakers at all. He shot to fame with the success of Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai. However, in this film too he was not the solo hero and shared screen with Akshay Khanna and Aamir Khan. After that film there was no stopping for him. He gave splendid performances in films like Nikhil Advani’s Kal Ho Naa Ho, Hum Tum etc.

He won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor category for his brilliant performance in Kal Ho Naa Ho. Later he also managed to won National Award for the movie Hum Tum. After that he did films like Salaam Namaste, Parineeta, Ta Ra Rum Pum etc.
