Title:Wii Fit Revolution - http://www.caymanmama.com/2008/05/30/wii-fit-revolution_200805302293.html
Description:

Dallas, Texas (Caymanmama.com) — Nearly 237 million Americans are currently overweight due to the hectic lifestyles that we all carry and the conveniences that we have to accommodate them. Between work and family there’s no time to hit the gym or a day at the park. Nintendo’s new “Wii Fit” could be the solution we’ve been looking for.

Nintendo’s new game brings a fun way to exercise for many Americans in the comfort of their own home. For its retail price of $90, the game is accompanied by a balance board that calculates the player’s BMI, weight, and measures the user’s shifts in balance. The game includes a variety of workout activities such as skiing, yoga, aerobics, jogging, push ups and side planks and Hula Hoops. The balance board serves as the platform for all the activities. During aerobics for example, the user steps on and off the board just as in a real aerobics class with a step board. If the user’s balance is not in sync, the game instructs the user where their balance should be and how to improve it.

With the Wii’s broad demographic and successful sales in the past, the new game is expected to be a revolution in fitness games. In January, over a million units were sold in Japan alone. The game hit stores in the U.S. just last week and already many stores are sold out of stock. If the Wii’s appeal continues to roar in the U.S. we can finally begin to tackle the nation’s rate of obesity by simply engaging in physical activity through the Wii’s very popular games.
