Los Angeles, California (CaymanMama.com) – Sitcom star, Kelsey Grammer suffered a heart attack on Monday and will remain in a New York hospital overnight. Grammer’s representative said that he checked in on Monday after complaining of feeling faint.
Stan Rosenfield, Grammer’s spokesman, said that the 53-year old actor was taken to hospital in the morning hours by his wife, Camille, and he was being examined to determine the cause of his faintness and chest pain. Grammer gained fame on the hit TV sitcoms “Frasier” and “Cheers”. Rosenfield also added that Grammer has not previously suffered from irregular heartbeats as it has been quoted by some celebrity media outlets.
In late May, Grammer felt chest pain while he paddle-boarded with his wife in Hawaii. He was later diagnosed as having suffered from a heart attack. Grammer was released from the hospital on June 4th after being under medical care for four days The actor has been promoting his new movie, “Swing Vote” which hits theaters this Friday. The movie is about the U.S. presidential elections.
Grammer gained fame when he portrayed the snooty yet lovable psychiatrist, Dr. Frasier Crane for about 20 years, previously as supporting player on NBC hit comedy, “Cheers” and then in “Frasier” as a star of his very own Emmy award winning spin-off series.
The heart attack came three weeks after he learned that Fox Network was canceling his most recent show. “Back to You”, which stands cancellation, portrays Grammer as a pompous and womanizing news anchor. This series made it for just one season.
