Needless to say, Rudy has sufficient name recognition throughout this country thanks his extraordinary leadership when we came under attack. His hands on approach and strength in the face of those dark times will forever endear him in the hearts of Americans. He methodically managed the crisis and was an emotional centerpiece of the recovery. Additionally, people forget about his great programs in New York City prior to 9/11. He cleaned up the vile streets and made NY one of the safest big cities in the country. Rudy did not make excuses as his predecessors did. He got the job done no matter what it took. Being an Italian Catholic may hurt him, but as not much as his New York status will. Im not sure if southerners can cast a vote for a pro-choice New Yorker in a Republican Primary. If he wins the nomination, his opponent will be able to dig up some dirt on him during the election. Rudy does have some skeletons in his closet, which the likes of Hillary Clinton will exploit.
